Space Lab for Cyber Security

Space technology & communications are evolving rapidly and so is the risk of cyber attacks. Create and test modern cyber security solutions for space platforms using our Lab-as-a-Service.

What is a Cyber Security Space Lab?

After winning multiple rounds of cyber innovation challenges in the field of space security, DISC opened the DISC Space Lab (DSL) where it develops new technical solutions for satellite platforms. We recently opened our lab to invite both industry and academic institutions to use our facility and experienced engineers in the form of a Space Lab-as-a-Service. No equivalent unique offering exists within the Canadian markets that contains such a diverse set of authentic satellite components.

Vision

Our goal is to protect satellites from being hacked both on the ground and in space with modern solutions to match a rapidly evolving satellite ecosystem.

Access

The lab has a remote access capability to allow researchers to work remotely, with physical offices located in Montreal and Ottawa – key locations for the Canadian Space industry.

How it Works

Our Space Lab has established a development and innovation environment where DISC projects, industry partners, and academia can access a full featured lab complete with a wide range of satellite components, architectures, and sub-systems.

It allows our clients to test and develop initial space-borne capability ideas and concepts while minimizing investment and having access to our in-house satellite engineering teams.

Small Business

The DSL provides a low barrier of entry to the space domain.

Academia

The DSL provides access to systems that would not otherwise be available in a university.

Large Companies

The DSL provides access to a development range that can be used to rapidly prototype new architectures and designs.
